It was one hell of an emotional weekend for Broadway fans and supporters of the "Hamilton" musical, as creator and star Lin Manuel Miranda, along with leading stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Philippa Soo took their final bows as the play's main characters. Miranda, who created the show back in 2009, plays America's Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton, while Odom Jr. plays Aaron Burr, and Soo plays Eliza Schuyler, Hamilton's wife.
Aside from bidding goodbye to the well-loved Broadway show, Miranda also said goodbye to his famous long locks, which he often kept tidy in a ponytail. The two-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright took to Twitter to announce his haircut, with a quote from his play, "Teach 'em how to say goodbye."

Miranda isn't the only one who bid goodbye to "Hamilton," as Odom Jr. and Soo also held their final bows last Saturday, July 9. Their final bow was filmed via Facebook Live, enabling fans across the globe to witness the emotional event. The orchestra even played the "West Wing Theme," much to Miranda's delight.
Miranda will soon make media rounds this November, when Disney's latest film arrives. The playwright has written songs for "Moana," which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Fans can hear Miranda sing in the film's trailer.
Meanwhile, Miranda is also prepping for the release of the "Hamilton" Mixtape, a collection of songs from the play, performed by pop and rap artists. According to Billboard, the album will include performances by Busta Rhymes, Ben Folds, Regina Spektor, Queen Latifah, Common, Usher, Sia and Chance the Rapper, among many others. The mixtape is due out this fall. Miranda will also star in the upcoming "Mary Poppins Returns," alongside Emily Blunt. The film will be out in December 2018.
