In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft has a couple of treats in store for fans in the form of the original "Splinter Cell" and The Division" DLC. The game and DLC will become available for free soon.
As part of the festivities of Ubisoft's 30th Anniversary, the full version of the original "Splinter Cell" game, launched in 2002, will become available for free on Ubisoft's Uplay PC store starting on July 13, 2016.
GameSpot stated that gamers can download theUbisoft 30th Anniversary title for free over a span of 30 days. Users must go to the Ubi 30 page and click "Get the Game Now" to start the download. They have to sign in to Uplay to add the game to their library.
Those who download the game for free get to keep it permanently. The free title is included in the festivities of Ubisoft's 30th anniversary in the business.
The original "Splinter Cell" released in 2002 for Xbox and PC and later spread to other platforms. The stealth classic has spawned several other titles through the year, with the latest being "Splinter Cell: Blacklist" in 2010.
At present, players can still download "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" for free on Uplay.
Aside from the upcoming original "Splinter Cell," there will be more free games arriving each month through the year, even after the Ubisoft 30th Anniversary is over.
Ubisoftalso announced that the free DLC for the Ubisoft 30th Anniversary is currently available in "The Division."
The pack includes outfits inspired by other games in the franchise so players may find familiar items from "Rainbow Six" and "Ghost Recon."
In another GameSpot report, a new 'The Division" patch will also arrive for free in celebration of Ubisoft's 30th Anniversary.
The new update is currently in development and intended to address some of the problems that were found in the game after the 1.3 update rolled out.
The official release date of the new patch has yet to be confirmed, although the game developer expects it to become available as soon as possible. The free "Splinter Cell" will most likely arrive ahead of the new patch.
Some of the known issues that will be fixed in "The Division" DLC include the faulty Pulse Scan that does not detect enemies effectively, the AlphaBridge Gloves that feature no or wrong stats, and the overpowered G36, among others.
