A fair warning to those who might have gotten over-excited about the re-release of "Resident Evil 5" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last month, there are some yet-unaddressed issues that come with the download of the game. Fans have taken to social media to air their concerns over the disappointing PS4 and/or Xbox One version of the Capcom game that was originally released back in 2009.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, some players have taken to Reddit to share their experiences on the "Resident Evil 5" on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, saying that there has been frame rate drops, along with issues with inventory management and game modes. Some players report that they could not upgrade their weapons, too. What's worse is that some players even lose the ability to use their weapons during Versus, Survivor, and Team Survivor modes, making for a very frustrating time playing the game.
Gamespot reports that Capcom is already aware of the issues and that they are already addressing them in the drawing room. In a statement to the media outlet, "Resident Evil 5" developers wrote, "We are aware of the current performance issues and certain gameplay bugs and the team is currently looking into it."
There's less than six months left before "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is released in January next year, so fans will have to do with revisiting "Resident Evil 5." The re-release still features former Special Tactics Chris Redfirld and Rescue Service member and Sheva Alomar on a deadly mission in Kijuju, Africa, where they must prevent Ricardo Irving from selling a bio-organic weapon in the black market. Along the way, the pair find out that people have become zombie-like thanks to a hostile behavior-inducing parasite.
"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be released on January 24, 2017 on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The "Resident Evil" spin-off "Umbrella Corps" is now available for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.
