A fan took to Twitter to urge designers of "BioShock" and "XCOM 2" to team up and create a game that has influences of both games. To everyone's surprise, both designers have given a positive response to the idea.
'XCOM' And 'Freedom Force' Hybrid
According to Gamerant, a fan directed a Tweet to renowned game designers Ken Levine and Jake Solomon, expressing his idea of a hybrid game between "XCOM" and "Freedom Force." Surprisingly, both designers warmed up to the idea.
The fan stated that he would love to see a "bastard child" of "Freedom Force" and "XCOM" series. Intrigued by the idea, Levine responded with this Tweet.

After a few minutes, Solomon also expressed his enthusiasm with the prospect.
Two Legendary Role-Playing Games
In 2012, Kevin Levine's studio Irrational Games created a real-time RPG titled "Freedom Force." As RPGs evolve in the next years, the once interesting game was overshadowed by the Irrational Games' other projects.
Particularly so, the "BioShock" series have become so wildly popular, it eclipsed "Freedom Force." Additionally, Firaxis "XCOM" also gained popularity among the gamers and critics.
In fact, its sequel "XCOM 2" was one of the most critically-acclaimed RPG this year.
Although the two renowned developers of "BioShock" and "XCOM" have expressed enthusiasm with the prospect of a hybrid game, many fans are skeptical that they would actually push through with the idea.
Firaxis is currently occupied with "XCOM 2" as it will soon be available on consoles. This is slated to be released on Sept. 6 alongside lined-up DLCs for the game.
Meanwhile, Irrational Games has since closed after the release of "BioShock: Infinite." Levine is said to be working on a mysterious project.
There are no details on what Levine is currently working on. However, based on the reports so far, it could be an open-world FPS with influences of "Fallout," "Dark Souls" and "System Shock."
