Kate Middleton did it again! She never fails to set a fashion trend even if it was unintentional.
Her simple but elegant looks always capture the attention of fans around the world and everyone would want to try her style. Now, it seems that she had set another fad after wearing a hairnet at the vigil of Somme Centenary commemorations that was held the Thiepval War Memorial in Picardy in France on Thurs., June 30.
The Duchess of Cambridge attended the event with Prince William and Prince Harry. She arrived with the two men wearing a gray, single breasted wool coat with zig zag pattern and button down front. Fashion enthusiasts recognized the coat and revealed it was from the high-end Italian fashion house Missoni.
Middleton completed her looks with voguish black pillbox hat, black clutch and black court shoes. Famed celebrity hairstylist Jason Collier said that Middleton will surely be credited for the hairnet trend which was predicted to be the next big in the fashion world.
"With fashion trends at the moment 'kitsch', is making a comeback so it is no surprise that the hairnet has made an appearance. I can see the hair net taking the reigns for some quirky fashion looks this season," Independent quoted Collier as saying.
He added that he personally think that the Duchess of Cambridge is making a true style statement with her classic pillbox hat that was paired with a hairnet, to neatly and prettily contain her chignon. The hairstyle was effortless but it was really classy.
According to PEOPLE, the pillbox hat is part of the 60s fashion style. It became popular after first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis wore one during John F. Kennedy's presidential inauguration in 1961. Ever since that time, many women of the royal family, like Princess Diana, adapted the look.
Finally, with regards to beauty and fashion craze, this is not the first time that Middleton turned something simple into a major trend. In April, when she visited Bhutan and India with Prince William, the braided hairstyle quickly became a trend after she showed up at the Bollywood gala in a blue Jenny Packham gown and with hair up in a braided chignon.
