On this week's episode of "WWE Monday Night RAW," the WWE moves forward with its build to "Battleground" in a few weeks—and finally addresses Roman Reigns' 30-day suspension in the process. Reigns was suspended last week after violating the WWE Wellness Policy (although we don't have any new informaton on it).
- Seth Rollins opens the show with an in-ring promo, mocking Roman Reigns and his suspension. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose comes down to confront him, and so does AJ Styles, who believes that the main event of "Battleground" should still be a triple threat match, only with him in it instead of Reigns. He states that his victory over John Cena at "Money in the Bank" makes him deserving of a title shot. John Cena also comes out and wants to be added to the match. Stephanie McMahon comes out and makes two matches for tonight: Seth Rollins vs. John Cena, and Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles—if Cena and Styles win their matches, they are added to the match.
- Sasha Banks and Paige def. Charlotte and Dana Brooke
- Titus O'Neil def. Rusev in a non-title match by countout
- Corporate Kane and Stephanie McMahon meet each other backstage. Kane says he wants to run "SmackDown," but Stephanie says she'll be running both shows. WWE Intercontinental Champion the Miz and Maryse appear and confront Kane. Kane invokes the 30-day title defense rule, and Stephanie books an Intercontinental title match against a mystery opponent for later in the evening.
- Seth Rollins def. John Cena after The Club interfered. John Cena will not be in the "Battleground" main event.
- Enzo and Cass def. two local talents. After the match, the Social Outcasts came out and tried to get in their faces, but Enzo and Cass won out over them.
- Summer Rae vs. Natalya did not push through after Becky Lynch came out to attack Natalya.
- Chris Jericho hosts the Highlight Reel with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. They continue their feud and Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens is on for "Battleground." Both Zayn and Owens superkick Chris Jericho to end the segment.
- Kane def. The Miz in a WWE Intercontinental Championship match by countout. Kane was apparently Miz's mystery opponent.
- Apollo Crews and Cesaro def. Sheamus and Alberto del Rio. Alberto del Rio turned on Sheamus and walked away from the match.
- The New Day confronts the Wyatt Family in the ring. New Day came out mocking the Wyatts by wearing their attire, but the Wyatts come out and apparently get into Xavier Woods's head.
- Dean Ambrose def. AJ Styles. Styles will also not be a part of the "Battleground" main event. The Club tried to interfere to get Styles in the match, but John Cena was there to get rid of the Club. Seth Rollins came down and attacked Ambrose.
