Folks who are rooting for a MacBook Air 2016 coming could be dying down soon with no official word yet from Apple on whether a successor is truly in the midst.
Last time out, we did post on the possibility of the MacBook Air being discontinued with Apple possibly opting to redirect its resources to the MacBook Pro.
The post includes a reference to Japanese publication Mac Otakara says otherwise, believing that Apple will be releasing a new version possibly this month. The month of June is about to end soon and nothing near a MacBook Air 2016 coming has come close to support that claim.
Is it a futile wait for the MacBook Air 2016?
With many obviously still in waiting, the outlook for a MacBook Air 2016 coming is not looking so good. Picking up the pieces from other Apple products, could the MacBook Air 2016 be headed out?
MacWorld is under the impression that Apple could be losing interest in the MacBook Air line and a likely casualty would be the 11-inch MacBook Air. If true, that could go as far as involving the 13-inch version if the Cupertino company is on the verge of pulling the plug.
MacBook Air not the only Apple product biting the dust
Jack March, a tech blogger, claims to have spoken with someone familiar with the situation and reveals that Apple is about to ditch the Air brand completely. Aside from the MacBook Air, the iPad Air line could be in jeopardy as well.
Retina MacBook taking over
In the event that the MacBook Air does get axed, a successor could be the Retina MacBook which debuted at Apple’s Spring Forward event. It was the same time that the MacBook Air got its update.
There is no telling what Apple plans for the MacBook Air line though no update points it towards a bad light. Do Apple fans have something to look forward to still?
Until Apple makes any official announcement, hope for a MacBook Air 2016 remains.
