It has been two years since fans got to watch "Sherlock" Season 3. Although a special episode was launched earlier this year, supporters of the show are still looking forward to the coming of "Sherlock" Season 4.
Fortunately, Steven Moffat, the show's showrunner, already confirmed that "Sherlock" Season 4 is in the works with the latest addition of Sacha Dhawan.
New Character
The role of Sacha Dhawan in "Sherlock" Season 4 is not yet revealed as the production holding the British drama series is keeping a tight-lipped.
The only thing known for Sacha Dhawan's character is he will be named AJ, as per CultBox.
Sacha Dhawan
Sacha Dhawan already worked with Mark Gatiss, "Sherlock" creator, in 2013 for "Doctor Who" origin drama, "An Adventure in Time and Space," Daily Express reported.
Later, Sacha Dhawan and Mark Gatiss joined up again for BBC's "The Tractate Middoth."
The 31-year-old star is known for his distinctive characters for "Mr. Selfridge," "In The Club" and "Line of Duty."
A New Antagonist
Meanwhile, "Sherlock" Season 4 is set to have a new antagonist with Toby Jones. In fact, he was announced as "one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's finest villains."
There are hearsays that Toby Jones will play the role of Culverton Smith from "The Adventure of the Dying Detective," though people behind "Sherlock" are still being mum about it, according to Headlines & Global News.
Culverton Smith is eyeing to kill Sherlock Holmes in 221b Baker Street by shooting the house with an infected spring-loaded pin.
But, as good as he is, Sherlock managed to escape his deadly plan and pretended to be tainted to catch Culverton Smith.
Then again, as Steven Moffat is known to alter "Sherlock" story from the book, it is quite expected that he will change some things about its plot and add a touch of modernity to the storyline.
Meanwhile, there is no news about "Sherlock" Season 4's air date yet. While the TV series is indeed in production, Steven Moffat admitted before that they were having a hard time to coordinate the lead stars' busy schedules.
