Michelle Obama Makes Her Snapchat debut, Heads To Carpool Karaoke With James Corden

The Obama administration has a few months left until they vacate the White House, but that doesn't mean they're slowing down with their efforts to reach their constituents. In fact, the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, has just made herself more accessible by joining Snapchat. While the platform, which boasts of 100 million users, may often be used as a favorite past-time for those who enjoy cat videos and comedy, FLOTUS is actually using it to raise awareness on the Let Girls Learn initiative, for which she is traveling to Africa and Europe.

Acording to NBCNews, Mrs. Obama will be traveling to Liberia, Morocco, and Spain, during which she will share tidbits of her trip via her Snapchat account, MichelleObama. She encourages the youth to follow her to find out more "about the more than 62 million girls around the world who aren’t in school" and how to lend a hand in support. Joining Mrs. Obama on her trip to Africa are her daughters, Malia and Sasha, and Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto.

"[Social media] bypasses the middle man," Mrs. Obama told The Verge in a recent interview. "People can get to know me directly. They can see that I’m kind of silly sometimes, that I care. They can feel the passion, [and] they don’t have to have it filtered through another source. And young people in particular like that."

But that's not the only good news Mrs. Obama shared, as she will also be sharing a ride with CBS' "The Late Late Show" host, James Corden for his widely popular segment, "Carpool Karaoke." The First Lady shared a snap of Corden saying, "Hi, I'm at the White House today and I'm going to take a spin in a car and sing some songs with..." before chiming in, "Me!" Corden could be seen screaming excitedly. While CBS hasn't revealed a date for the First Lady's appearance on the segment, the network promised that it will be "coming up."

Catch the First Lady at "The Late Late Show" as it airs on CBS every 12:37 AM central.
