'Final Fantasy XV' Latest News, Release Date & Update: Game To Be Launched In PC? Know Why Director Hajime Tabata Likes Microsoft's Project Scorpio And Sony's PS4 Neo

This year's E3 showcased, among other things, two notable hardware upgrades for the two big consoles on the market. Sony's Playstation 4 is getting a boost with the company's new secret project, what we know as the Neo—meant to complement the PS4—while Microsoft unveiled a brand new console codenamed Project Scorpio.

Now Hajime Tabata, director of "Final Fantasy XV" and a man that's part of a franchise with games that consistently push consoles to the limit in every generation, offers his opinions on the two reveals. Tabata, who hadn't been made privy to the existence of Project Scorpio until Microsoft revealed it to the world at E3, couldn't give his full thoughts. However, with everything that's been shown so far about it, he says he's impressed.

"It'd be really great though if we could have 'Final Fantasy XV' something we can play on the current-generation Xbox One and PS4, also give them that choice that when the new, stronger-generation hardware comes out, to have them play at that level as well," Tabata told Kotaku. "I'd really like to be able give them that." Project Scorpio is due on the 2017 holiday season, while the PS4 Neo is apparently scheduled to come out by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, there's word going around of a possible PC version of "Final Fantasy XV," but Tabata says while it's likely to happen, fans shouldn't expect for it to launch alongside the console versions, as getting the console versions out on schedule is Square Enix's biggest priority at the moment. The company, however, will be releasing a version of the game for Playstation VR, as also announced at E3.

According to Tabata, what's left to finish in the game are really just some relatively minor stuff, such as polishing and optimizing the game, after demos they've released showed a few glitches. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more PS4 Neo and "Final Fantasy XV" news and updates!
