Unfortunately for the fans of "Persona" game series in North America, Atlus announced that "Persona 5" release will be, once again, delayed. This is not the first time the video game company canceled the fifth installment of the role-playing title.
'Persona 5' Changing Release Dates
Atlus first introduced the coming of "Persona 5" in 2013 that was set to be revealed in the winter of 2014. But the video game developer later declared that it will be moved in 2015 and pushed again on Feb. 14, according to Polygon.
To recall, Atlus said last month that "Persona 5" will be revealed in Japan on Sept. 15 along with the first official trailer of the game.
The said release date is just five days away from "Persona" series' 20th anniversary.
Atlus Explains The Delay
"The biggest factor in the 2017 release date is attention to detail," The PR manager of Atlus, John Hardin, explained on the PlayStation blog. "We're making sure every bit is in place."
The Verge reported the company justified that "Persona" is Altus' first video game series since 2008 and it is now evidently growing fast.
"Atlus is taking its time to ensure this is the best possible experience," the blog read.
'Persona 5' Treats For Fans
As a token for the awaiting fans, Atlus will be treated with two special editions. "Persona 5" exclusive release for PlayStation 3 and 4 and is now available for pre-order and has some treats, Kotaku cited.
The PlayStation 4 release comes with a SteelBook® Launch Edition for $59.99/CA$79.99. It will arrive specially wrapped in a SteelBook collectible case adorned with "Persona 5" designs.
The "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition, on the other hand, is also for PlayStation 4 only and is worth $89.99/CA$109.99. It comes with a CD Soundtrack, Morgana Plush, a 64-page Hardcover Art Book, SteelBook, School Bag and a Collectible Outer Box.
However, these are only available for pre-order and limited while supplies last. "Persona 5" also has a movie coming up in September, titled "Persona 5 The Animation: The Day Breakers."
