Apple´s Worldwide Developers Conference is drawing near. Now, iMac fans are wondering would their prized desktop would make an appearance this June.
There´s a possibility but highly unlikely.
The most recent release of the iMac was back in October of 2015. Most likely, the standalone desktop won't make a next version til 12 months after it´s recent release. It´s just to early for the WWDC that Apple would introduce a new iMac.
That´s just one of the reasons why there could be a delay or seing the iMac on WWDC is unlikely. Apple follows its release history tediously, thus we can only hope but not expect.
One of the biggest reasons why we see the iMac later this 2016.
The reported chip that would run the iMac 2016 is the Intel Kaby Lake chip. Kaby Lake chips supports Thunderbolt 3 and native USB 3.1. However, the chip won´t support DisplayPort 1.3.
Now, these Intel Kaby Lake chips are set to release in late 2016. Now, as to that report, we can expect to see an iMac on the last quarter of 2016 but, for sure, Apple would make an effort to have the new iMac worth the wait.
