"Mafia 2" returns to Steam after almost a year being off the market. Not only will it be available for purchase, the publisher will also offer a great discount you can't refuse.
The Return Of 'Mafia 2'
"Mafia 2" went live on Wednesday after 10 months being off the market. "Mafia 2" returns in anticipation of "Mafia 3," which is set to be released on Oct. 7, Polygon reported. "Mafia 2" and its three DLCs will be 80 percent off until June 8.
For those who missed out Mafia 2, you can purchase all six available expansions including Jimmy's Vendetta and Joe's Adventure 80 percent off, Gamespot said.
Furthermore, no DLC will cost more than $2 given the discount. To learn more about the promotion, you may visit the Mafia II Steam page.
Why "Mafia 2" Was Off The Market?
There was no clear explanation why "Mafia 2" was taken off from Steam last year, only to return 10 months after. While the return is to hype up the anticipation for "Mafia 3," many fans speculated that music licensing costs may be the reason for 2K to remove the title from Steam, Polygon said.

Four years after its launch, "Mafia 2" was taken off Steam. It was around August of last year when fans noticed the game was no longer for sale.
The game before that, "Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven" was also removed from Steam in October 2012 in a similar fashion. Until now, the game is still not available.
"Mafia 3" will see the return of "Mafia 2s" Vito Scalleta, who will play lieutenant to the main character, Lincoln Clay. "Mafia 3" will launch on Oct. 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This will give players four months to revisit "Mafia 2" before finally moving to the sequel.
