In a span of merely three days, “Total War: Warhammer” sold 500,000 copies, making it the fastest-selling title in the franchise. SEGA and The Creative Assembly have been quite proud of their collaborative effort and achievement.
“Total War: Warhammer” is the latest title in the “Total War” series, which released on May 24, 2016. Currently, the total gamers that play the strategy game peaks at around 100,000. Despite a number of server issues during launch time, the game continues to gain popularity, especially among fans of the “Total War” franchise and “Warhammer” game.
IGN noted that the game developers confirmed that there are a number of multiplayer server problems on Steam that they are addressing, due to the very high number of players. Gamers are advised to allow loading time for up to 10 minutes during initial launch. If the game still fails to work, players can set Steam to Offline and then run it again. If it still fails, players should verify their Steam Cache. If it still does not work, gamers should update their graphics drivers.
GameZone said that according to Tim Heaton, Creative Assembly Studio Director, the team particularly focused on stability and performance throughout the game development process. They reportedly enjoyed creating new ways to play “Total War” within Games Workshop’s excellent Warhammer Fantasy world and are very proud of the results. They are glad to see that the game is getting a lot of positive reviews from both players and critics.
According to PCGamer, “Total War: Warhammer” features diverse factions and units. The battles are very entertaining with excellent graphics. It effectively merged the two games to provide an engaging experience for both new and old players. Many critics and gamers consider it as the best title in the franchise yet. The quests, game mechanics and storyline have made significant improvements, while maintaining the “Total War” approach that fans have grown to admire through the years.
VG247 noted that the game also includes the “Chaos Warriors Race Pack,” available for free for a limited time. The pack features three new playable Legendary Lords, Chaos Warrior mounts, monsters and other units. The pack also adds new quests, abilities, magic items and a new horde campaign playstyle.
“Total War: Warhammer” is currently available on PC. The “Chaos Warriors Race Pack” is available for free with the game until May 31. More updates and details are expected soon.
