Nerd culture continues to invade mainstream culture in awesome ways, as Mexican gymnast Elsa Garcia Rodriguez Blancas (rolls of the tongue, doesn't it?) recently performed her Olympic qualifying routine to music from The Legend of Zelda. The tracks were all written by Koji Kondo, and include the original medley, the gerudo valley theme, and the lost woods theme, all featured in Ocarina of Time.

This particularly exceptional version was performed by violinist Lindsey Stirling, who has also done violin covers of other video game favorites like Skyrim. However, musical selection alone doesn't guarantee a gold medal. Performing her routine with an injured hand, Elsa was only able to compete in two events, scoring 12.400 on the balance beam, and 13.733 on her floor routine. In the end, Elsa placed 35th.
