Skyshine's Bedlam Channels Madmax But Offers More, Available Now In Steam

The game was developed by independent studio Skyshine and was published by Versus Evil and is dubbed as The Banner Saga meets Mad Max, Bedlam is now released and available at Steam for $19.99. The game will also get a deluxe edition with a soundtrack by Kevin Riepl.

Bedlam used the same engine used for The Banner Saga, thus the resemblance. However, Bedlam will give more playability and more of a roguelike turn based strategy game rather than a storyline-driven gameplay. The game was also funded through Kickstarter, which is similar with The Banner Saga, Gameranx reported.

The game was inspired by the 80s Mel Gibson post-apocalyptic movie Madmax, where the main character of Bedlam takes a role as a mechanic, and was missioned in escorting a huge number of people in a massive rolling fortress named Dozer across the wasteland to a distant city known as Aztec City.

GameSpot also pointed out that the character will bring the gamers into various places and situations where they will be forced to commit into a decision that will basically make or break the entire journey. The game is fueled on the gamer's drive to explore in which if pushed too hard, will mean total disaster.

The popular game website also pointed out that the game has a very challenging battle, most especially at the start of it, and it seemed like a chess match due to its turn-based battle gameplay. The game moves should also be picked carefully since wrong buttons may mean wasted turn or attack. Gamespot also cited to not take the battle lightly as it will destroy the gamer's day if played incorrectly or lightly.

In addition, every location offers different storylines thus make the game of exploration enjoyable and at some point tempting to explore very further, with the hopes to uncover more stories, but too much exploration might mean disaster.
