Before Satoru Iwata's untimely demise, he revealed the Next Nintendo game console and called it Nintendo NX. During that revelation, he said that the game console is still in its early stage and promised to announce details in the coming months. Unfortunately, Iwata died before the actual production started.
A couple of months after Iwata's death, Nintendo announced that they will soon open the preorder option for the upcoming Nintendo NX and promised to stay committed bringing the console to their supporters despite the fact that they have yet to start mass producing the unit. However, this development basically started the cascading of information about the Nintendo NX.
True to their promise, Nintendo recently hinted the public that the upcoming Nintendo NX will have a feature similar to Sony and Microsoft's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively. According to reports, although it is unconfirmed, like the PS4 and Xbox One, the upcoming Nintendo NX is expected to equip an AMD mobile CPU and GPU as well as an entry-level size of 8GB RAM, which is basically similar to Sony's and Microsoft's. But, since Nintendo is known to stick to their ideology to be unique, it is expected for the Nintendo NX to carry on the type of gameplay of its older brothers the Nintendo Wii and Wii U.
The Nintendo NX is expected to be released by 2017 but there are unconfirmed rumors that it will be released before the year ends and if that is indeed true, the Nintendo NX will make its debut at E3 2016.
Nintendo shook the entire gaming industry and made its rivals to come up with something big, which resulted to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, when they released the Nintendo Wii but failed to follow up the success with the disappointing Wii U. Iwata was responsible for the Nintendo Wii and Wii U, the reason that he is so focused to release a gaming unit that will again bring back the Nintendo game console at par with the PS4 and Xbox One.
