CD PROJEKT RED has announced that worldwide pre-orders for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have exceeded 1,000,000.
“We’ve crossed the 1 million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support,” said Marcin Iwiński, co-founder, CD PROJEKT RED. “This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard -- over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine,” concludes Iwiński.
We're nearly a week away from release now, with the game set to hit May 19, 2015 on PC, Xbox One and PS4. You can pre-order it from Amazon here or get it from CD Projekt's own GOG.com, which comes with a soundtrack, wallpapers, a world map, paper toys, avatars, videos, comics- all sorts of digital goodies. There's also an insane collector's edition that comes with more tangible (physical) bonuses, of course. No matter where you pre-order it you will receive the 16 entirely free DLC packs that will be released in pairs on a weekly basis beginning on May 20.
If that's not enough, those two expansions on the way will add 30 hours of gameplay to the game, or, more than the length of most other games. There's a season pass available for that for $25 if you want to get a head start on it.
If you aren't swept up in the excitement for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt already, perhaps Conan's recent Clueless Gamer episode will convince you, where he says that it was the best thing to happen to him in his whole life.
