Much like how you can expect that there will be an extended edition of the six Peter Jackson Tolkien films, so too can you expect a Game of the Year edition for practically any AAA title. As if on cue, Warner Bros and Monolith have announced that the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY will launch this May.
The Latest Warface Update Takes You Into The Heart Of Darkness
The game will launch exclusively on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on May 5 for $49.99 and yes, it will include ALL PREVIOUSLY AVAILABLE DLC. It's like why even bother at this point? Just take the release date, add six months and voila - not only will the game be rereleased bug free, but it will also include all additional content released up to that point.
Now, do not mistake me, I love DLC. I love being able to continue the adventure of a game for months, if not years, after its initial release. It keeps developers and designers and business and can, over the course of a game's lifetime, radically alter the product and usually improve upon it. It is just that the standard lifecycle has made us all cynical; why pay piecemeal now, when we can get a better experience later, and for cheaper?
