Super Smash Bros. fans on both Wii U and 3DS have reason to celebrate today, as Mewtwo is now available as a playable fighter for everyone.
Dragon Ball Super Announced, First Full Anime TV Series Since Dragon Ball GT
The menacing Pokemon became available earlier this month to Club Nintendo members who own and registered both copies of the game, but those were the only players with access. Now, Mewtwo can be purchased by anyone on the eShop as a downloadable character.
Mewtwo costs $3.99 to purchase on one system, and $4.99 to buy him on both. This is the first character to be available in such a manner, and Lucas is the next fighter to get the treatment. If you haven't seen Mewtwo in action yet, take a look at the video below. It goes through all of his moves and abilities, showing off his range of attacks. Many are similar to his previous Smash Bros moves, but there are some changes. That includes a debut final smash, which looks pretty cool if nothing else.
Minecraft Adds Free Playable Female Character, The Simpsons Skins Come To PlayStation
Aside from the confirmed plans for Lucas, rumors are floating about Roy, Ryu, and others (there's also Nintendo's write-in ballot to consider). Nintendo can continue to add characters in this way indefinitely, and I have a feeling there will continue to be interest for them.
