Halo Championship Series Season 1 Recap: Evil Geniuses Crowned Deserved Winners
The prize money for Atlanta is $25,000--one of the larger chunks of the total $250,000 prize pool for the whole season. Seeds have been determined by the preseason performances going into the event, not based off of last season's finishes. They are as follows:
1. Winterfox (Formerly "Team Randa): Randa, RyaNoob, Naded, ContrA
2. Evil Geniuses: Snip3down, Lunchbox, Roy, LethuL
3. Counter Logic Gaming: OGRE 2, Royal 2, Snakebite, Cloud
4. eLevate: Gabriel, MuNoZ, Shooter, Str8 Sick
5. Denial eSports: Chig, Mikwen, Heinz, aPG
6. Cloud9: FearItSelf, Hysteria, Victory X, iGotUrPistola
7. Noble Black: Arkanum, Aries, Ninja, Prototype
8. OpTic Halo: Flamesword, Ace, Assault, MaNiaC
Evil Genuises came away with the deserved Season 1 title after a very strong performance at the final. They were consistent all year, but really made a strong push at the end of the year when Lethul replaced the injured Pistola. CLG held the top seed for most of last season before being passed late on, and have switched Heinz for Cloud heading into Season 2.
Winterfox is an entirely new squad with good potential, and the rest of the teams are sporting new mixed and matched rosters of the game's best players. There's a lot of promise in some of those lineups, but it will all come down to how the teams perform across the next three days. Tune in and enjoy!
