Aah, the noble Hog Rider, so very underappreciated in top level Clash of Clans strategy. So what if he has a high and whiny voice and gets scared at the simplest of necromancy? They can be a great force, and certainly one to embarrass your opponent with when you attack.
DomiNations: Your New Favorite Clash Of Clans-esque Mobile Title From A Creator Of Civilization
Our favorite Youtuber Galadon isn't a big fan of Hog Riders - he's a GoWiPe man through and through - but in the interest of science, it is his duty to test out all the many, many troop options the folks over at Supercell have given the game.
Hog Riders are fast, agile - a little bit weak - but they also possess something few other units do: focus. They care about one thing and one thing only: eliminating the enemy's defensive structures. Towers, cannons, xbows - with a laserlike precision, they home in on these buildings and nothing will stand in their way (except Clan Castle troops, of course) until those structures are dust. The riders themselves can jump over walls, allowing them to get right into the heart of the town quickly and efficiently.
Galadon And On: A Conversation With A Top Youtuber About All Things Clash
The problem with Hog Riders is that you really need to bring a lot of them, they can go down quickly and since they're first to the front, so to speak, they're the ones who will be getting hit with the bulk of the traps your opponent has laid for you. But when they work, oh my do they ever. I don' t think I've ever seen Galadon (or Galadon's people) get 3-stars on every attack but the Hog Riders roll through his opponent's base like a whirling dervish.
The King and Wizards come in to help clean things up. Try using some riders next time, if only for a change of pace.
