Everyone, I'd like you to meet your next mobile obsession, Smash Land. Smash Land, this is everyone. I do hope we can all get along.
New Mobile Title DomiNations Out Today; Join The Clash Of Civilization Now
Supercell soft released their F2P title via the Canadian app store about two days ago. If it does well there, we'll see it here. The last title, Spooky Pop, has had its subsection from the official Supercell forums removed, so I think that one might DOA. Smash Land is similar in gameplay, a quasi-turn based title in which you smash through enemies by flinging a slings, arrows or even your heroes themselves at them.
Think...Angry Birds meets a top down fantasy title like Sneaky Sneaky, with a little bit of Final Fantasy Tactics tossed in.
F2P Shooter Warface Gets Some New Multiplayer Content
To put it in Supercell's words: "Smash your way through dangerous lands packed with scary creatures. Collect cool heroes with explosive abilities and search the world for treasure. Join a Team and make friends, battle against imposters and make enemies!"
I do hate imposters.
The game comes with the standard Free To Play shenanigans: there's a standard currency, and items you can buy, lockout timers, upgrade timers, etc. Supercell does it better than most, but that doesn't mean they aren't still doing it. It's just that they can back up their demands for money with above-average gameplay.
It looks fun and colorful enough for anyone with a few minutes to kill and the burning desire to toss things into other things. I think we can all get behind that notion.
