Mortal Kombat has long been known for its violent and bloody combat, in particular its brutal finishing moves called Fatalities. Mortal Kombat X will of course include the famous moves, and the enhanced graphics made possible by the new generation of hardware only allow the violence to reach a new level.

IGN has compiled all known Fatalities into the video below, showing off a parade of body-destroying, gore-filled finishing moves across a range of characters. From organs being ripped out to torsos cleaved in two, Mortal Kombat X is really bringing the pain in regard to Fatalities. The developers' imaginations have clearly not been exhausted, as there's an array of inventive moves on display. Whether through sheer brute force or a combination of weapons and powers, the game's fighters really know how to pick apart a helpless opponent. The video also includes a look at the X-rays feature, a slow-motion look inside a character's body upon impact. We see powerful punches or kicks shatter bones, break spines and generally make it look impossible to move (let alone fight) again.
