Assassin's Creed 3 Keeping it 'Hardcore' for Mobile, Plus PC Delayed

Assassin's Creed 3 is on track to make its debut this year on consoles and PC's across the globe.  But development company Ubisoft isn't leaving out the mobile gamers.

Teaming up with mobile developers Gree, Ubisoft plans to unveil its mobile game version of Assassin's Creed titled "Utopia."  The game takes place before the event from Assassin's Creed 3 as players are tasked with building a colonial city.  The game will take elements such as art direction and characters from the Assassin's Creed franchise.  Certain story components like the evil company Abstrego's technology named  Utopia, make its way into the mobile version.

The world building concept appears to be something more like Sim City rather than the stealth-slashing gameplay seen on the consoles.  Despite the initial appearance as a casual game, Utopia Producer Andreane Meunier ensures fans that the hardcore element in past Assassin's Creed titles will be integrated into the mobile version.

"We're working together to make a unique experience on mobile that's not going to be just 'casual', but that can also be related to more 'hardcore' brands...what we've been looking at is to have a true Assassin's Creed experience, to make sure the fans and those that know and love the brand really recognize the Assassin's Creed touch," said Meunier in an interview with PocketGamer.

Fans can also expect to have a social interactive experience as players can work or challenge one another in building up utopia towns.  No official word yet on when the mobile version will be available.  Though Ubisoft has confirmed that there will be a definite delay with the PC version of Assassin's Creed 3.

Originally the game was stated to be released on November 23 based on a promotional package.  Originally the game was set to make a March 2012 debut.  PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will get first shot at the highly anticipated title when it hit stores October 31 as well as the PlayStation Vita version called Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation.

Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation will include a new female assassin named Aveline de Grandpre who will travel throughout New Orleans during the Louisiana Rebellion.  Similar to her male counterpart, Aveline will utilize pistols, machetes, blowpipes, and a concealed assassin's blade to assonate her targets.  The new game version will also include naval battleship and multiplayer mode.

It may appear that the Wii U version of the game will also try to make a 2012 debut in time for the holidays.  Ubisoft plans to bring uniqueness to the Nintendo version of Assassin's Creed 3 such as its combat system.  .  Players will also have new gameplay controls such as a stalker mode and predator combat.  Players will also be able to regenerate the protagonist's health automatically when he is removed from combat.

Nintendo and Ubisoft will also take advantage of the Wii U tablet controllers by utilizing the displays for accessing maps within the AC3 Database.  Wii U players can also the ability to quickly swap out weapons on the fly for faster paced gameplay.
