As in the past, the league will be bringing back the StarCraft II circuit, which has been its main title due to the game's enduring popularity. That won't be all this year, though, as Red Bull Battle Grounds will be adding a Dota 2 circuit this year--the league's first time running more than one game in a season in coast-to-coast circuits.

The first Red Bull Battle Grounds Dota 2 invitational circuit will feature 20 invited professional teams from around the world battling it out in online battles through the season (March 29 to April 18). The best five teams will enter into a playoff on May 5 to represent their region (North America, China, South East Asia, EU and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States)), which will take place in Santa Monica, California.

In an interesting twist, each team enters the playoffs with three lives, and contenders can pick which teams they'd like to face--lose three matchups, and you're out. The two surviving teams will compete for the season title and base line $75,000 prize in a one-day grand final on May 10 played at San Francisco's Warfield Theatre.

As the new Dota 2 circuit concludes, the traditional StarCraft II tournament will begin. It will head to Washington D.C. in the fall, with details to be announced this summer. Tickets to the Dota 2 event for spectators are available now.
