The Halo Championship Series is holding a one-off event between seasons of the competitive league, with an All-Star Game ready to kick off this afternoon.
Halo Championship Series Season 1 Recap: Evil Geniuses Crowned Deserved Winners
A roster of fan-voted pro players will be taking on a team of employees from developer 343 in an online tournament, which will be streamed on Twitch in the video below at 4 p.m. Pacific, 7 p.m. Eastern.
The team of all-stars was voted by fans over a short period earlier this week, with the developers nominating Snipedown, Ace, Arkanum, Royal 2, Ogre 2, Roy, Victory X, and Mikwen as eligible. Snipedown, Ogre 2, Ace, and Roy won the community vote, and will face the 343 team in Halo 2 Classic online later today.

You might assume there's no chance for the 343 employees, but those who follow the scene know there are quite a few skilled players among the developer's ranks. A handful of professional players gave up playing to join the developer, largely consulting on competitive settings and providing opinion on the series' multiplayer.
The 343 players facing the pros will be Neighbor, Strongside, Dersky, and Ghostayame, formerly very big names in the competive scene. It's also worth noting that the competition will not be played with Halo 2 Anniversary, the current game used on the HCS circuit. This gives the 343 team more of a chance, as the pros are highly drilled in H2A's mechanics and strategies. In a few hours, the games will begin!
