Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight Announced For 3DS
And you should work quickly, because games and other prizes are magically disappearing and reappearing with little to no warning. In case you're at odds with the Wii U titles to pick up with your hard fought coinage, we've compiled this go-to list.
Long after Club Nintendo has turned to dust, these games will be there to give you warmth and comfort in the blackest of nights.
Endless War(hammer): A Guide To All Current Warhammer Video Games
Super Mario World [200 Coins] - the SNES classic is one of those games that is absolutely mandatory to own on every system and we are pretty sure there is a line in the General Charter of the United Nations that explicitly states that all gamers must replay it at least once every five years. Our guys are checking the particulars and we'll get back to you soon. SMW is definitely in the running for greatest game ever made.
Earthbound [250 Coins] - or Mother 2 if you want to be all high and mighty about it. The other RPG celebrating its 20th birthday here in America this year, Earthbound is the very metaphorical adventure that introduced the world to Ness, or: that [expletive] [expletive] kid that [expletive] Bobby always uses in [expletive] Super Smash Bros, that [expletive].
Ice Climber [200 Coins] - the NES Classic top-down scroller tests your twitch skills as you guide Popo up the mountain. Simple, yet wonderfully addictive. A must-have for any collection.
NES Remix [300 Coins] - this is a very fun title that mashes up a lot of the classic platformers - Metroid, Mario, Excitebike, etc - and lets you run through them as various characters from each. If everything is indeed a remix, it may as well be a mix of all the great stuff.
The Wonderful 101 [600 Coins] - breaking from the line of classic titles, The Wonderful 101 is one of the underloved but still solid titles released on the Wii U in recent years. As Wonder Red, you command a small hundred-unit army of...things and can transform them into whatever shape or object you need. It's kind of like Pikmin meets Viewtiful Joe (which makes sense, as both Wonderful and Joe were directed by Hiedki Kamiya)
Super Metroid [200] - when people talk of Metroid, they're really talking about this SNES legend. This is the Metroidvania platformer, perfected, and it was done over 20 years ago. Everything else since has just been trying to play catch up, as if Super Metroid nerfed them all from the get go and they have yet to collect their power-ups.
Now, the argument could be made that you should really buy all of the games available on the official Club Nintendo site, but we'll leave it at six for the time being. Stay tuned and we'll bring you another list of the must have titles to nab for the 3DS before they're gone!
