The Total War franchise began in 2000 with Shogun, since growing itself into one of the biggest names and strategy. A new video celebrates the 15 years of titles, and teases an upcoming new entry as well.
Ranking The Top 4 Total War Games
We travel through the eras and through the last decade of releases in the video below, showing off the games in chronological order, as well as those still to come. Total War: Attila has already launched, but we see previews of Total War Kingdom and Arena in the mix.
The unannounced game is very briefly teased at the end of the trailer, and our best guess is the seemingly accidentally leaked Warhammer tie-in game. You can only hear a roar with a short graphic--nothing else is shown or named--so that rumored title is the best guess.
The Elder Scrolls Total War Mod Puts Tamriel To The Sword In Medieval II's Engine
If you've never played the series, the video may very well give you an urge to jump in. The gameplay is both a turn-based campaign map and real-time battles with troop movement, combining the two genres uniquely. When armies (produced from cities in Civilization-like fashion) meet on the world map, you can opt to load a real time battle map and orchestrate your armies in combat. The older games are often on sale on Steam, with Medieval II and Rome being personal favorites of mine. If you're already a fan, enjoy the video!
