Nintendo president Satoru Iwata was on hand to make the announcement, which happened fairly early in the broadcast. Edition will be combine their powers and head to North America together in a 2-for-1 bundle package.
The rpg/match 3 hybrid game will come to the Nintendo 3DS family of handhelds in May of 2015. The Japanese version will be released on April 29.
New Free To Play Pokemon Shuffle Heading To Nintendo 3DS
You can watch the brief video featuring gameplay from both titles below. As previously revealed, Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition features characters and worlds from the Super Mario Bros. series, and that seems to be the only difference between the two titles, so it's nice to get a bundle with them both.
The game is part of a collaboration from Puzzle & Dragons creator GungHo and the House of Mario. If you can't wait for the 3DS edition, you can always download the original Puzzle & Dragons for your mobile phone. But beware, it can be very, very addictive.
