The content was originally meant to be paid DLC, but Ubisoft has decided to give Dead Kings away to owners as an apology for the game's sloppy, bug-filled launch. Big-budget titles launching with issues is becoming all-too common, but at the very least these gestures are mostly coinciding with the problems.
In Dead Kings, Arno explores the city of Saint-Denis and its extensive, open world underground. Saint-Denis is an ancient necropolis with an intricate network of catacombs and deep caves that hide the best-kept secrets of the French kings.

The cinematic trailer below gives some setup for the content in Dead Kings, though it's all CGI. Still, Assassin's Creed gameplay might come a lot closer to the action in its trailers than many games, and the dark mysterious tone of Dead Kings is intriguing.
