When the teaser site claimed "The Dragon Returns" for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, they weren't kidding.
Released earlier this morning as part of Konami's pre-screening conference with Game Trailers, the sequel to the reimagined Castlevania goes with the "true" ending but with a twist. Instead of dropping us into modern times, it proceeds to showcase Gabriel embracing his new role as The Dragon, or as the Romani might call him, "Dracul."
It's pretty and captures the original format of Lords of Shadow with the Combat Cross replaced with "Evil Energy Whips" so the combat dynamic may not shift too much. But like any good sequel it teases bigger enemies and the last man standing, who could be anyone from the new Big Bad to a 'young' Zobek.
