We've gotten plenty of details over time about The Creative Assembly's upcoming Total War: Attila, but nothing substitutes for seeing the game in action.
Destiny Xur Gear And Loot For This Weekend
The developers have obliged with a lengthy Let's Play video, which shows off the new Hordes and Migration features. In nearly 20 minutes of footage (complete with narration and explanation), we see Campaign gameplay unfold playing as the Ostrogoths.
The Hordes mechanic applies to those factions who begin without a home, giving players roving armies to start the game in search of land to claim as their own. As the developer describes, you can migrate in a pack and fight as one large body, or split up to find an ideal location to conquer. Hordes have their own stances to make use of, unique from other factions, and they can't recruit without being encamped. Population surplus and growth is essential to keeping a Horde alive, and constantly moving around will not allow your tribe to replenish.

Other features such as land fertility determine your success (you will diminish this by creating settlements), and Integrity needs to remain high lest you suffer a rebellion. You can ultimately end your migration (greatly increasing your odds of survival) by creating your empire and putting an end to the Horde-style faction. This turns the gameplay back into a traditional faction, but you need to be careful about having too many Hordes for your one new city to support. Check out the video below for more details--Total War: Attila is set for release on February 17.
