It's a little under a month before the game is officially released, and Evolve has officially gone gold.
Halo 5 Guardians Beta Patch Coming Tomorrow, Find Out What Is Being Fixed
This means two things- first, that develpment on the game has finished and it's being sent to manufacturing which will print the retail discs and ship them to stores, and second, that developer Turtle Rock is popping champagne at the office.
To celebrate that fact the company has released the game's intro cinematic and frankly, if jet-packed powered mercenaries taking down a fire-breathing monster doesn't get you very, very excited for Evolve then you and I can't be friends.
PS4 China Launch Has Been Delayed
Evolve will be on sale February 10 exclusively for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows. If you have been looking to upgrade to the next gen, the asymmetrical multiplayer - think Left 4 Dead, but with boss battles - is the sign you have been waiting for.
The cold winter of the beginning of every year is a veritable wasteland of new releases. These months are usually spent catching up with the insane glut of games developers released during the very narrow October to November window. Evolve hopefully represents one of the great cozy fires of excitement one can find as they venture forth into the snowy desert of gaming.
Next week, Xbox One players with an Xbox Live Gold Account can participate in Evolve's open beta, which will hash out any lingering multiplayer issues and make way for the inevitable Day One patch (the physical game has already shipped, remember?). No offline support will be included during the beta period. Just sign on, download the game and you're there shooting monsters or ripping apart humans.
