Fans looking forward to the ultimate DC movie, a Justice League film will be happy to know that the film is rumored to release in 2017, after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Shazam Will Be Getting His Own Film, Tie Into The Justice League?
IMDB has the film listed as releasing in November of 2017 which would mean that the movie could be coming sooner than we thought.
What this means is that DC is not playing around when it comes to taking back the box office. There was a time when the company out did Marvel when it came to screens but with recent flops (I'm looking at you Green Lantern, just you) and under performers, they have had a rough time of it.
Justice League Movie To Be Part Of Shared DC Movie-Verse
With the announcement of a shared DC Movie-verse, fans of the comics have something to look forward to. Chatter indicates that Justice League will look more like what Marvel's The Avengers appears as. They've also shared a very aggressive filming schedule that will see releases every year or two starting in 2016.
Which is to say, a series of team films with certain key characters getting their own feature films to help build their back stories.
Most of the heroes that will be featured in the Justice League film will also be in Batman v Superman. Missing from that line up however, are both the Flash and Cyborg.
These roles have been cast however. Ray Fisher will be playing Cyborg and will have his own film in 2020. Erza Miller will take up the role of the Flash. No new movie planned for him however, perhaps because the character is already killing it on the CW along with Green Arrow.
Also to note, it would be interesting to find out if the DC Movie-verse impacts the DC television shows. We know that they share a universe. If they are going to follow in Marvel's very profitable footsteps, the events of the films will have an impact on the shows.
Until Justice League comes out, you'll have to be satisfied with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which is set to release in 2016, or the upcoming Justice League: Thrones of Atlantis.
