The roughly six and a half minute trailer shows off the tactical strategy game’s characters, cutscenes, animations and gameplay, all true to the series’ batcrazy style that has made the series a classic amongst gamers.
The game was revealed during this year’s Tokyo Game Show. It will be available here in the States and in Europe sometime in the fall of 2014 for PS4 as both a digital and physical release. Expect a very thorough collector’s edition to come with it. Sadly, no PS Vita port is planned for this time.

Much like a Tarantino film, the central theme behind Disgaea 5 is revenge. Against Dark Lords and The Lost army or who knows what else. The game was previously rumored to be subtitled ‘Alliance of Vengeance’, which is surprisingly not the worst name utilizing the (blank) of (blank) format in 2014 (looking at you Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice).
The Disgaea series debuted back in 2003 on the PS2 with Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and has seen three official sequels, plus a number of handheld ports, manga and even an anime series. The last game, Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten was released back in 2011. Four years? That’s the length of a presidential term for crying out loud. No wonder people are clamoring for this.
Watch the utter craziness of the trailer below. Warning, it can be an information overload.
