PlayStation is kicking off the year with some major free titles for PS Plus subscribers, including inFamous First Light for PS4.
As with every month, PS Plus members are offered two free titles to download per platform, giving you a total of six free games every month if you own a PS4, PS3, and Vita. Many of these offer Cross-buy functionality so you benefit even if you don't have them all.
They're yours to keep and play for as long as you're with PS Plus, and once again they've included a nice mix of AAA titles and indie hits. Here's the full list of games you will be able to download on Tuesday January 6.
PS4:
The well-regarded standalone expansion to inFamous Second Son, this is the clear highlight of the month. It's a prequel to the game that offers a new playable character (Fetch) and new challenges.
An wonderfuly spooky puzzle game that sees you exploring an abandoned space station, creating clones of yourself and swapping your consciousness between them to explore every inch of it. Undoubtedly one of the moodiest games of the year and a real little gem.
PS3:
The original Prototype came out around the same time as the first inFamous and offered a similar experience of exploring a city as a superhero, but whereas inFamous allowed you to at least pretend to be good, Prototype was all about destroying stuff and engaging the military. The sequel is just as fun.
Sure that new level might not be worth it, but the fact that we have a prettied-up version of what's inexplicably one of the best (and most beloved) platformers of all time is remarkable, and now it's free.
PS Vita:
Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition -
Forget about Forever- the original Duke 3D is still one of the best first person shooters ever made. This version included enhanced versions of the game and its three expansion packs.
The BIT.TRIP developers made this crazy frantic game that sees Dave fighting off an alien invasion in a world that looks like it was pulled out of the original Mario Bros.
