I want you to close your eyes and think back for a moment. Think back to a time before the internet. I know, it’s a scary place, filled with pages and pages of words and pictures. Focus on the video games you played, the Nintendo, Genesis, whatever you had growing up. Hold onto that, remember that.

You’re sitting in front of your PSN, and you still can’t sign on to play multiplayer because Santa is dead. Worse, you can’t even play some single-player games because, as mentioned previously, Santa Claus is dead.
But then there’s that pleasant memory of the days when all you had to do is turn a console on and you could play. No network required. Single player was you and the system, and multiplayer meant that your buddy was sitting next to you. And the internet? What is that, anyway?

I am taking you on this walk down memory lane, to what some might call better days to tell you that they are upon us again. Well, at least for the upcoming asymmetrical survival game Evolve. Before Christmas, Turtle Rock Studios - as if anticipating the utter s***storm that would befall the major consoles in a few days - released a charming, 20 second video of just how you can play Evolve without the internet. As the last month of cyber screw ups and assaults has taught us is that we love the internet, but it’s a sometimes food. We don’t want to be connected all the time because then someone can take away something we love and screw us all over for days on end.
