If you're waiting in eager anticipation for the Halo 5: Guardians Beta, it will release at noon Eastern Time today (9 a.m. Pacific) for The Master Chief Collection owners.

As announced yesterday, you can now pre-download the beta in preparation for its launch to save on wait time. Unfortunately, the steps to access the beta are a bit more complicated than they should be--it doesn't simply give you an option to download on The Master Chief Collection's menu.
You instead must go through The Halo Channel, and specifically, a Nightfall episode. While watching, you press the 'X' button to bring up the menu and access the rewards section. From there, you can begin downloading the beta. It's unclear if this process will change once the build launches.

The beta build was patched days ago following the conclusion of the early access period, but 343 gave no indication as to what was changed. The update was almost 8 GBs, though the overall file size post-patch ended up being slightly smaller, so clearly something fairly significant was implemented. Whether graphical, performance, or gameplay tweaks, the patch hopefully responded to any issues or suggestions that arose during early access. If you're lucky enough to have free time around noon today and will be able to play, sound off about your thoughts--343 is looking for all feedback.
