Video games are becoming more and more like interactive movies each and every day. Developer Techland is taking that philosophy one step further with their new Dying Light video titled ‘Test Your Survival Skills’, an interactive Youtube video that lets players make simple choices to determine the outcome of the story.

First of all, how cool is that? Second of all, it’s only good on a PC desktop. Sorry tablet, phone and Mac users. We are out of luck. Though you can still watch the “movie” play out before your eyes. As you guide the game’s protagonist, Kyle Crane (who sounds like he has a very well defined jaw) over the rooftops of the quarantine zone, you can also unlock some original artwork that shows off various bits of the world, including enemies, mechanics and characters.
Of course, you can also play through it a bunch of times, selecting every different option available. As soon as I can, I’m selecting every ‘left’ choice.

The video is essentially removing your idiot buddy who is hogging the console the whole time while you bark orders to ‘totally throw that zombie off the roof!’. This should cut down on broken egos and shattered friendships. Or make it worse, as now you or your idiot buddy now have ten seconds to bicker over what to do.
Dying Light is a combination free runner and open world zombie title that looks pretty great. Though they’ve oversaturated the market, we’ll always love zombies here. The game is out for PC, Xbox One and PS4 on January 27.
