Starting next week, you’ll be able to take the epic Bhaalspawn Saga with you wherever you go. That’s right, Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition is coming to iPhone and Android.

The new 1.3 update adds support for Linux, Android and iPhone as well as fixes for over 500 bugs in the game and improved multiplayer support. The game is currently out for iPad as well as PC and Macs. Where can’t you pick it up? App Store, GOG, Steam and the official Beamdog store.
Beamdog is the company behind the game's new mobile edition. They have already released Icewind Dale onto phones and tablets to great acclaim. They hope to continue the trend with Baldur's Gate II.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows Of Amn was released in 2000 and quickly became one of the gold standards for Diablo-esque dungeon crawlers (not named Diablo, of course). The game was one of the first titles designed by a then little known studio called Bioware. You might have heard of them. The original sold 2 million copies and an expansion, the Throne of Bhaal was quickly released. Both Amn and Bhaal are included as part of the Enhanced Edition, offering players the final two chapters in the trilogy in all its remastered glory.
New locations have been added to the game, as well as four new playable characters available for download via in-app purchase.
The game’s official site asks this simple question: “Can you resist the evil within you, forge a legend of heroic proportions, and ultimately destroy the dark essence that haunts your dreams? Or will you embrace your monstrous nature, carve a swath of destruction across the realms, and ascend to godhood as the new Lord of Murder?”
Now tell me you don’t want to play that. Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition comes to iPhone, and Android next week on December 16.
