Infinity Blade iOS Game Hits Consoles, But Only For Chinese Xbox One Owners With A Kinect [GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE]

Infinity Blade Is Moving From iOS To Xbox One, But Only In China

Infinity Blade, the popular series of action RPGs on iOS, is breaking its mobile chains and heading to consoles, but it's not exactly a wide release. The game is a Kinect-exclusive on the Xbox One, and, as of now, it's only planned to release in China.

The New Pokèmon Games Are Pulling In Some Serious Cash

According to Kotaku, the Xbox One game, whose title can translate to Infinity Blade: Fate, includes the original iOS title and both of its sequels. The port is being led by Tencent, a Chinese holdings company that holds stakes in many media companies, including Infinity Blade co-developer Epic Games.

Though gamers are probably more used to console games being downsized to mobile ports instead of the other way around, bringing Infinity Blade to the big screen (relatively speaking) is not necessarily a tough jump to make. The series has always been on the more cinematic end of iOS games, being developed in Unreal Engine 3. And because the game will be a Kinect exclusive, it should be able to keep the swipe-based controls of its mobile predecessors. As can be seen in gameplay footage that leaked to YouTube today (and which you can watch below), the game includes plenty of slashing motions as the main character cuts down enemies, as well as leaning gestures during dodging sequences.

God Game Godus Hits Android Devices Through Google Play

After its original 2010 release for iOS, Infinity Blade quickly became the fastest-grossing iOS release, making more than $1.5 million in just four days. The sequels did just as well, if not better, critically. Infinity Blade II even scored a perfect rating from IGN, becoming so far the only iOS game to have done so.

It's unknown as of yet when the game will hit Chinese consoles and if it will ever make its way to other markets, Kotaku reports.
