The days grow short, the nights longer. There's a chill in the air once again. No better time for Upper One Games to release Never Alone, their haunting new title set amidst Alaskan folklore.
CastleStorm - Free To Siege Gets A Raid Update
The game arrives November 18 on Steam, Xbox One and PS4. Never Alone follows Nuna, a native Alaskan of the Inupiaq tribe, and her arctic fox companion as they attempt to discover the source of the endless blizzard currently crippling their village. The lovingly detailed 2D platformer takes its inspiration from actual Alaskan art and stories, blending it into a surreal and beautiful adventure title.
Upper One Games, the first indigenous-owned commercial game company in the United States, utilized the knowledge and history of actual Alaskan natives to craft the story. You can read all about them on the official page. In fact, you can unlock some deeper insights into the world. "Elders, storytellers, and other members of the Alaska Native community share stories and wisdom about their culture, values and the amazing Arctic world encountered by players in over 30 minutes of interviews."
This War Of Mine Comes Home Today On Steam
The game can be played either single player or co-op, which means that yes, you can play as both Nuna and fox, and switch between them with ease.
Listen, there are a lot of games out there. A lot of big, huge expensive (and glitchy) games ready to take your money. And that is fine. But remember the smaller guys, the ones we can't always talk about because they're not flashy. Never Alone is flashy, in its own way. The game will cost $14.99 and Upper One Games says it should last you about five hours, or roughly the length of a Call of Duty single player game.
