Just a few days ahead of the annual Blizzcon event, where fans from all over converge on a single point to celebrate all things Blizzard, it is being whispered that the name of the next Hearthstone expansion may have been found out already.

The news comes courtesy the great Touch Arcade, who noted that back on October 28, Blizzard filed a new trademark filing. The supposed new title? 'Eye of Azshara'. As noted by Touch Arcade, it does fit with Blizzard's past handling of expansions for all of their games.
The filing report reads as follows:

"Cl 41 Entertainment services;namely, providing on-line computer games; providing on-line non-downloadable computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network; providing on line news and information in the field of computer games."
The line about portable devices and tablet PCs seems to rule out the possibility that this is the next expansion for World of Warcraft, as noted in this very passionate post on reddit. Now, we could be reading this wrong (we are not lawyers) and obviously, nothing is announced yet. Though, admittedly, a cross-game tie-in for both WoW and Hearthstone could be quite awesome. After the relative success of the Curse of Naxxramas expansion earlier this year, which introduced a five-wing 'dungeon' to the game and a handful of cards, the next Hearthstone expansion is going to go big. One hundred cards big.
Azshara is a location in World of Warcraft currently under Goblin leadership on the continent of Kalimdor. It is named for a legendary Elven queen Azshara who went mad under the influence of the demonic forces that invaded Azeroth millennia ago. Since then, the Naga, themselves once High Elves have been a constant thorn in traveler's sides. Expect many, many naga themed cards to come to Hearthstone should this prove true.
The card back for November is all about the goblins, which would lend weight to the rumor that we are nigh upon the next expansion. We'll find out this weekend when Blizzcon starts.
