That title that did, as the trailer claims, help define online multiplayer and a generation of gaming is back in remastered HD glory in The Master Chief Collection. The trailer reflects the impressive visual changes with its cinematics, and will no doubt bring memories flooding back to the series' legion of fans.
The developers today showed off Halo 2 Anniversary's matchmaking system, which will reintroduced the skill-based ranks of the past. This makes a huge difference when playing online, and really does separate the very best players from the rest--Halo 4's system simply awarded higher levels the more you played.
The Master Chief Collection contains every main story Halo title, all of them with online multiplayer and dedicated servers. Halo: Combat Evolved has never been on Xbox Live before, while Halo 2's servers are shut down.
