According to my watch, the date is October 23. We are eight days out from Halloween, and if I recall correctly, Halloween falls on a Friday, so that must mean that...yes, today is Thursday! And Thursday means one thing and one thing only: the new Nintendo eShop weekly deals.
Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley Launch Trailer
Several big titles are coming out this week. None bigger (I'm talking like double D big) than Bayonetta 2. The bewitching sequel is out tomorrow, October 24 on the Wii U eShop. The game is also part of a limited time sale with the original title. Anyone who purchases the digital version of Bayonetta or Bayonetta 2 in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U will receive an automatic discount that will be applied to the purchase of the other game, making the total for both games just $59.98. How sweet is that? If you're undecided, don't worry: there's a demo version for the second game available for free.
There, let it never be said that the Wii U is lacking in exclusive, "hardcore titles".

Also out for the Wii is Just Dance 2015. The world's No. 1 dance game is back with new moves, game modes and more than 40 top tracks, featuring hit songs by Maroon 5, Pharrell Williams and Rihanna. In the new Community Remix, players become a Just Dance coach, while in the new Dance Challenger Mode, everyone can dance along or compete against players around the world. Retail for $39.99.
Maybe dancing is not your thing. Maybe you're a singer. Don't worry, Nintendo has you covered for that, as well. The Voice comes is out now on the Wii U eShop for $39.90.
Castlemania (tm) continues this week for the Wii U Virtual Console with the release of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, one of the most beloved games in the series history (with some claiming it is nearly an equal to Symphony of the Night). The GBA game was originally released in 2003. The Wii U version is out now for $7.99.
Several titles are coming to the 3DS this week as well!
The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins - the 3DS strategy version, adapted from the hit Nickelodeon series features an all new adventure written by the show's creators themselves. With the release of the console title this week as well, now you'll never have to be without the Avatar ever again. $29.99
Big Hero 6 Battle In The Bay - I suppose it is a foregone conclusion that the six heroes of Disney's upcoming Big Hero 6 will make it out alive. That's most definitely the case, as Battle In The Bay takes place after the events of the movie and follows our unlikely company of warriors as they fend of an invasion of robots. Ultron who? Available on October 28 for $29.99.
Pokemon Art Academy - learn to draw all of your favorite Pokemon and share them with the world. Here's our full write up. If you purchase this, you will receive a free download of the Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby game demos. The full release hits shelves on November 21. $29.99, available tomorrow.
Fantasy Life - the popular rpg/crafting/adventure title has finally made landfall in the states. Choose from amongst 12 different Life classes to experience a whole new world of adventure.
Shantae And The Pirate's Curse - Shantae, a genie, gets totally Metroided in the beginning of the game and has to turn to privateering to get her powers back in this all new platforming adventure, the third entry into the Shantae series. Much like Bayonetta, Shantae can whip her hair back and forth. Which is just so much fun. $19.99.
The sales this week include:
Sweet Memories: Black Jack - the fun of blackjack, now with a weird schoolgirl thing (3DS) is $2.79 until November 6.
Wakedas, not to be confused with Wakanda, the fictional African country that is home to Black Panther. It's a puzzle game! Currently $1.99 until November 6.
Also coming out this week
Castle Conqueror EX, a new RTS title for 1 to 4 players. An updated version of Castle Conquerors. Out now for 3DS for $3.99
KORG DSN-12, it sounds like a sci-fi shooter, but it's actually a music creator featuring the world's first 3D oscilloscope display. Out now for 3DS. Retails for $37.00
Saban's Power Rangers Super Megaforce - sadly this is not about University of Alabama's football coach Nick Saban as he attempts to blatantly bend the rules of collegiate sports by utilizing the Power Rangers, but hey, a guy can dream. (Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS) - Available Oct. 28 for $29.99
Secret Journeys: Cities of the World - channel your inner History Channel nerd and visit the sights of the world. Plane tickets are expensive, but this one is only $4.99 for the eShop
Next week brings us a classic Kirby title and in lieu of Castlevania, we're getting the next best thing: Gargoyles! See you next Thursday.
