No. No, no, no, no. It can't. It mustn't. But it must! Let me explain, for six years, from 2004 until 2010, I was obsessed with Blizzard's World of Warcraft. There will be no other game I will invest more of my time in than WoW. I kicked the habit, sure, but the recent updates and the forthcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion has me itching for a hit. I can fend off the need by saying that I simply do not want to download what must be about 100 gigs worth of content at this point. Nor do I have the time to play anymore.
Then came Hearthstone, Blizzard's free to play CCG. Released just this year, the game has already netted 20 million total players (by comparison, at its height, WoW boasted roughly 12 million active players). The title is available for PC and Mac, and iPad devices. I could avoid it on my laptop, logging in for a few minutes to play this or that game. The iPad in my apartment is not mine, my better half uses it (though I can still steal away for a round or two every now and then).

But my phone? My precious, precious iPhone 5S. The phone that is with me at all times, that is glued to my hands, that has remained Hearthstone free. Unblemished. Untouched. Pure.
No longer.
In the official blog post, Blizzard announces that the iPhone version is definitely happening and will be available in early 2015. "One of the biggest challenges with that is revamping the user interface so it feels intuitive and offers the same quality Hearthstone experience, but this time from the palm of your hand." Our sweaty, in-need-of-a-fix hands.
The smaller screens on the older generation iPhones can be a significant hurdle, but if Solforge and R can manage it, then Hearthstone will follow suit. We will see how it plays early next year.
Let us pray that they never make it possible to play Hearthstone without an internet or 4G connection. Truly, that would be the end of me. Should you not hear from me come next year, let this message be all the evidence the police need.
