Assassin's Creed Rogue puts more emphasis on the Templar organization than any previous Assassin's Creed game, but that doesn't mean the Assassin Brotherhood will be underdeveloped. On the contrary, Rogue looks to have one of the most fleshed-out lineups of Assassin characters since the series took us to the New World.
Assassin's Creed Rogue Gameplay Video Gives A Look At The Redesigned New York City Map
Liam O'Brien was introduced in the latest Rogue story trailer as one of protagonist Shay Cormac's closest friends. Obviously sharing the same Irish blood, Liam and Shay have known each other since they were kids. As the first of the two to join up with the Assassins, Liam soon introduced Shay to the Brotherhood as well, setting off a course of events that would eventually lead to the devastation of the Assassins in North America. With Liam still part of the Brotherhood after Shay switches his allegiance to the Templars, there's bound to be a compelling story when Shay is forced to strike down his childhood friend.
Hope Jensen is another of Shay's partners while he's still with the Assassins. Trained by Achilles Davenport himself, Hope is a integral part of the Brotherhood's operations in New York City. We first met her in the same story trailer that introduced Liam. Though she seems like she's also close to Shay, she's probably not as important as Liam. Shay will likely feel bad for hunting her, but not for too long.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles Will Be A Series Starring Assassins From Different Times And Regions
Kesegowaase is a Native American Assassin who has been shown in a few of Rogue's promotional materials, though we don't know too much about the man himself. Trained as a mercenary, Kesegowaase probably uses those dual tomahawks he wields for more than just show.
Louis-Joseph Gaultier de La Vérendrye is a historical figure who ends up joining the Assassin Brotherhood in Rogue. In history, the French Canadian is thought to be one of the first Europeans to lay eyes on the Rocky Mountains. In Assassin's Creed Rogue, he'll be just another Assassin for Shay to scratch off his list.
All of these Assassins will join two returning characters – Black Flag's Adéwalé and AC3's Achilles – to form a powerful Assassin organization in the beginning of Rogue. The fact that AC3 sees Achilles as the only remnant of this period of the Brotherhood, though, does not bode well for the rest of the group.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is set to hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems November 11. A PC version has been confirmed for an early 2015 release.
