According to Okabe, PlayStation preorder customers will be treated to the game's Raid Mode Throwback Pack for free. This pack includes a collection of levels for the game's Raid Mode that are based on stages from previous Resident Evil games.
PlayStation 4 preorders are now live, but PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait until later this month to put their money down on this next installment in the Resident Evil series.

Raid Mode offers a more action-oriented gameplay option into the survival horror formula. While playing in Raid Mode, players can team up to fight their way through various monster-filled levels. For standard Raid Mode, these levels are taken from the game itself with altered enemy placement, but the Throwback map pack is letting teams tackle levels from the franchise's history.
In Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the player will switch between playing as series standby Claire Redfield and support character Moira Burton. The game will be released in four episodes over a period of a couple of weeks, with both a season pass and later retail version available for those who want to buy all episodes at once.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC some time next year.
