We are fast approaching the start of the annual New York Comic Con in two weeks and what was once a small little affair amongst the comic community has become, well, a little crazy. How crazy? Even TBS and TNT are showing up. The television companies are bringing some of their popular properties to geek out amongst us commoners.
Korra And The Turtles Are Coming To NYCC
TBS, which recently acquired the 11th and final season of American Dad! after the animated comedy was quietly cancelled by FOX, will be airing an exclusive screening of the first episode of the new season (the first without series creator Mike Barker). The screening will be followed by a Q&A with cast members Wendy Shaal, Rachael MacFarlane, Scott Grimes and Dee Bradley Baker. The screening will take place on Saturday, October 12 from 2 to 3 at the Empire Stage.
Additionally, the TBS reality/contest show King of the Nerds, which is about to start its third season, will be on hand to present a sneak peek at the third season. A third season which still does not feature the nerdiest man I know (personal shout out to MK). Robert Carradine Curtis Armstrong, the show's hosts, will be present alongside season 2 winner Kayla LaFrance and everyone's favorite cosplayer Yaya Han will be on hand to talk about the nerdy delights coming up in season 3.
NYCC: The Thrilling Adventure Hour Is Taking Over New York
The King of the Nerds panel will take place on Thursday, October 10 in Room 1A10 from 5 to 5:45.
Lastly, Noah Wyle is hoping to rebrand TNT to 'Total Noah Television'. The ER star is already appearing on the network's flagship sci-fi adventure Falling Skies, entering its final season next summer. But he is also a part of the winter line-up as well, with the new show The Librarians, based on the two Indiana Jones-esque made-for-tv movies Wyle starred in.
The new show introduces four new Librarians who will doubtless get into many, many misadventures. Stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth and John Kim will be on hand at Comic Con (no Noah) to talk about the show and present some never before seen clips. The Librarians debuts on December 7.
You can check out The Librarians panel on Friday, October 10 from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Empire stage.
Stay tuned to GameNGuide for all your NYCC needs. We'll be there all weekend.
